Downloaded photos are disappearing from android
It's possible that you delete your pictures in My Files or Gallery app by mistake and then they are removed to the trash, so you mistakenly think that they have disappeared from your Gallery.
As long as it's not more than 15 days, you can still retrieve those missing images. First things first, you should navigate to and open the Gallery app on your phone. Tap "Pictures" at the lower left of the screen.
You will be greeted with the thumbnails of all your pictures. Then, tap on the vertical three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen. In a list of choices displayed, you need to tap "Trash". Note that: Now in the Samsung phones, the deleted pictures or videos will be moved to the "Trash", but not in the "Recycle bin". Should your pictures don't show in the gallery again one day, try to retrieve them in the "Trash". The images deleted from "My Files" app is not in its Trash — if you click More options the vertical three-dot icon and then tap "Trash" in the app, you will find there's nothing in the Trash folder.
But the disappeared photos are in the Trash of Gallery app. Therefore, if you want to know the steps to retrieve photos deleted from My Files, you can go back to the above "From the Gallery" part. Additionally, you should know that if you accidentally delete the pictures in My Files app, the pictures will also be deleted from the Gallery.
In other words, Gallery app won't show them to you. If you get a habit of making backup of your photos and other important data on your Samsung phone, this option is just for you. Here we're going to show you a step-by-step guide to recover images from Samsung Cloud and Google Photos. Samsung Cloud can automatically back up the phone and sync your data as long as you toggle on the switch of the data you want to sync in the "Sync and auto backup settings".
When photo disappearing issue occurs, you are able to quickly and easily get back the lost ones, provided that you enable Gallery sync option.
Please note that, Samsung Cloud only provides 5GB basic storage space. You can enable "Select items and tap "Download", or select specific photos you would like to restore and click "Download". And the web version of Samsung Cloud can also be used to restore missing pictures, just log into your Samsung account, click Gallery, and check the box next to the image you would like to restore.
In addition to using Samsung Cloud, some individuals may utilize the non-Samsung app like Google Photos to create full phone backup.
Google Photos is a smart cloud backup application that is well integrated with Android Samsung devices. It also does a swell job of organizing your picture albums so that you can find them easily. I also read that you need to set permissions on Chrome to allow storage, but it was already enabled. I also checked this on the gallery app and it was ALSO enabled. The other solution listed above this one did not work for me. Thanks for taking the time to figure this out. The problem is Google.
For some reason when you use the search and download from it, it acts like it downloads and goes nowhere. But simple solution!! Just use your regular internet browser! I jumped on that, entered Google and the same search I was looking for. To clarify my actions I initiated the file transfer by connecting my i-phone to my laptop with a USB cable, but I was not using the iTransfer utility software?
Presumably the "old fashioned way" i. Is there any other suggestion to help recover my seemingly lost files? I would appreciate if someone can tell me what has happened and why it has happened. Is this a known "issue" with Windows 10? Sorry I can't help you with recovering your files.
And I don't think you would ever get them back. But I can tell you I had exactly the same issue, 2 days ago. So don't blame yourself, you did nothing wrong. But we both must admit the reliability of Win 10 leaves a lot to be desired, at least for the moment.
Especially having in mind my folder with 6 pictures in it disappeared not during the transfer, but 2 or 3 min later. I was able to see my pictures in the new folder on the Desktop and when I tried to move one of them to a different folder, they all disappeared, with the folder.
The photos I have taken for the last four months have disappeared from my computer too! I had an SD disc in my camera, and they disappeared from my camera as well. I had no reason to believe my photo downloading would be any different than what it had been before installing Windows Why oh why did this happen? Where can I file an official complaint. I am truly disturbed by this, and I wish I could go back in time to prevent it from happening.
And to have pictures of your newborn son--I could only imagine your heartbreak, and send you my sympathies. In the meantime, can anyone please tell me how to rectify this situation transferring pictures with an SD disc? Including shots of my newborn daughter, that I'll never be able to replicate.
Like some of the posters above, I looked through every shot before erasing my SD card. I even opened some of them up in Photoshop to make edits If I had accidentally deleted them, they'd show up in the Recycle bin wouldn't they? So as far as I can tell, this happened for no reason at all You have my utmost sympathy, but your procedure does raise a big red flag as far as I'm concerned. Basically as far as I can tell the OS was in the process of syncing a folder on your PC with the camera's contents, but since you deleted the files from the camera during the process, those deletions got synced too!
This is my guess since I don't know how Win10 actually functions internally, but does sound plausible to me although if this is really the reason then it is a huge UX failure on the part of the Windows developers. In any case purely for safety reasons, common sense always dictates to me to disconnect my cameras, double-check that all the files exist on the PC and are viewable, then get rid of the originals from the devices.
